Visiting the Benaki Museum we witnessed the
magnificent art of the goldsmiths during the times
of Alexander the Great and the Hellenistic period.
Our guide , Ms. Papageorgiou, archaeologist and the
curator of this exhibition, with her thorough
knowledge and unstoppable energy “travelled” us
through those historic times, explaining the
influence of other civilisations and cultures, such as
Egyptian and Persian on the creators of golden
masterpieces.
